EU doubles funding for projects tackling domestic violenceThe
European Parliament voted to increase the funding for programmes aiming to prevent violence against women and children by over 130% to Euro 116 850 000.The objective of the Daphne III programme is to prevent and combat all form of violence against children, young adults and women.
The programme includes preventive measures and provides support for victims and groups most at risk. The programme will also raise public awareness of violence and address the root causes of violence
