Another blow to education in the North West
The decision to scrap the modernisation and rebuilding of Schools is a shortsighted decision that is a slap in the face for education in the North West. It is unacceptable in my view to expect our children and their teachers to work in worn out, overcrowded buildings. I appreciate that the Government needs to make cuts but education should be a priority.
Some 700 schools earmarked for modernisation and/or rebuild have had their plans scrapped with the North West of England being badly hit leaving many children confined to having their education carried out in old sub standard buildings.
Clearly the Tory/Liberal Coalition in Westminster has the same low priority attitude to education as the Liberal/Tory coalition we have had to suffer in my home town of Warrington. Unfortunately, it's our children who suffer from these two unholy alliances.
