Brian Simpson MEP

Representing your rights...

Welcome to my website, I sincerely hope you find it both enjoyable and informative. Over recent years it has always been difficult as an MEP to inform constituents in the North West of England of the work that I and other Labour MEPs do in the European Parliament. Covering an area stretching from north of Hadrian's Wall to the border of Staffordshire, and from the Pennine Chain to the Irish Sea presents many problems when it comes to communications. That why in this modern era I hope this website provides at least an idea as to what is going on in the European Parliament, giving people an insight into my work and my views.

I'm often asked why I want to be an MEP, especially in recent years when politicians have hardly been 'Top of the Pops' in the eyes of their constituents. For me it's a matter of fighting against injustice and for equal opportunities for all. It was these causes that got me involved in politics in my native Golborne many years ago and whilst in many areas things have improved, in other areas these causes still have to be fought for.
